FRATERNITAS!The land in which makes up the Fraternitas Pride is one of little green. Said green only lasts in the spring before the summer sun leaves the tall grass a brownish yellow. Where there isn't grass, there is either sand or dirt. There are many trees, yet they stay spread out in the territory, and you never see more than five clumped together at a time. A small river cuts the territory in half, and the most green you can find at any given time resides around said river. The river is the main source of life in this land, and many herds of prey animals tend to stay around it. The spring is filled with showers of rain, flooding the river on most occasions. The summer proves unforgiving, with drought and harsh sunlight, yet the occasional rain ends up in a storm lasting a few days. Fall has few showers, and the temperature doesn't drop too much. Winter is snow-less, and the temperature doesn't differ much than in Fall. While the day is scorching hot, the night is cool and comforting.
Rain beat down on the savannah, filling the once barren world with life. Black outlined eyelids closed, blinking out the precipitation as it tried to blur together his vision. His tail waved low at his paws, curling near the end so the long appendage didn't sweep across the forming mud. Ah, what a glorious place this was! Rain fell for most of spring, and he could only bet that the rest of the seasons were unforgiving. Unforgiving... Something told him that word was going to appear a lot in the future. The male sighed, shaking the thought of out of his head. This was no time for negative thoughts! He had a promise to fulfill.
He took off, paws light and barely touching the ground. He shot through the green grassland, ignoring the sloshing mud painting his tan paws a dark brown color. It would wash off. The burst of speed soon receded, and the male was left at a simple trot, allowing his energy to return. Ah, there it was! A large rock located near the river. He better hurry; the river was beginning to flood. With a graceful leap, the spotted creature landed on said rock, using it to gaze out at the land before him.
The air around him seemed to calm, and the rain began to slow its thunderous speed until it was a simple drizzle. It was then that the King Cheetah spoke, his voice ringing out, causing a nearby herd of Thompson's Gazelle to stop what they were doing and stare at him. "From this day forth, this land shall be under the rule of Adonis, lord of Fraternitas! Any who wish to join may join, but mere loners will be chased out immediately!" With that, Adonis let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding. A smile tugged the corners of his lips up as he surveyed the savannah. I have kept my promise, brother. We now have a home.
