Man, was it cold!
Tawny fur fluffed out as much as it could, and the female's whole body shook in an attempt to regain some heat. How did her mother stand this? Chocolate colored eyes blinked a few times, locking on the small form of her mother. Well, really her mother was much larger than her, even if Clouded Leopards never got too large. Sitara was just high off the ground, hanging upside down on a strong limb of an old tree. This place was perfect for climbing! The young cub carefully unhooked one paw from the limp and stretched it forward, grasping on to the limb once more. She repeated the process with the rest of her paws until her face was met with the trunk of the tree.
Letting out a little 'squawk', if you want to call it that, the cub began to start trying to get herself right side up. It took her a few minutes, but she was able to do so. Shaking her pelt, Sitara stared back down at the ground. Her mother was simply staring back up, laughing at her. With a huff of annoyance, the tawny cub started climbing higher, not even noticing her mother's form retreating for some odd reason. Once at the top, Sitara blinked a few times, taking in what could be seen from where she was. Too bad there were leaves all over the place. Otherwise, she would have the perfect view of the forest. Oh well, she would just have to come back next winter.
Now... How does she get down? Simple. Climb. The cub stared down at the mass amount of limbs leading to the ground. With a sigh, she began her descent, hopping from one branch to another. When the branches got too far apart, she started climbing--well, more sliding--down the trunk of the tree. She finally arrived back at the limb she was on half an hour before, eyes searching for the familiar form of her mother. "Mom?" Another tremble ran through her body, but this time it wasn't from the cold.

The sun will set on my time, And rise on yours.
Mufasa wasn't really sure what had brought him to this forest. It was cooler than the heated outside world and it protected it. Along with that, it was a place had hadn't seen. Ever. The huge trees that seemed to grow to the sky made even the large Mufasa feel rather small. It was a feeling he wasn't sure he liked, but it wasn't one he resented. The long hairs around his neck that made up his thick mane were finally cooled with a soft breeze that seemed to curl around the underneath of the trees. How it got here, Mufasa wasn't really sure, but he loved it. A smile was crossed his handsome face as he continued walking on the decaying ground. The leaves crunched softly under his massive paws that carried his entire weight which was more than five hundred pounds. Still, surprisingly , he was a rather quiet being among the other animals in the forest. Beautiful yellow orbs were narrowed and looking at everything around him. One was to know the land and the other was to keep alert for danger. Mufasa didn't know this land and he didn't want to take any chances of someone making a surprise attack.
Mufasa's ears suddenly perked a bit as he heard a soft noise. It was probably something he wouldn't even had heard if the wind wasn't blowing in the right direction. He wondered for a moment, if he should even see what it was or carry on his walk through the odd place. However, curiosity got to the better of him and be shifted slightly so that he was walking in a new path. Mufasa began to pick up his pace, trotting through the forest and still being relatively quiet. It was when he heard 'mom' that he stopped and turned his head once more before pushing through some brush and seeing the small Clouded Leopard. He was transfixed with it since it was so much smaller than anything he had ever seen before. Smiling nicely and purring, he whispered in a charming yet husky voice," Are you alright, dear?" He spoke with the nature of a father and a loving voice as well. Mufasa was trying to come off as nice as possible since the poor thing did seemed to be scared out of its...her wits.

Her small frame seemed to shake more and more as the seconds ticked by. She couldn't see her mother! From her position, she should be able to at least see her or even scent her! Gah, why did there have to be so many other scents blocking out her mother's? Why did her mother even vanish? Her mother was better than that! Maybe she... Um... Maybe she just... Sitara tried to flatten herself against the branch, using her pelt to her advantage and try to blend into the tree. Because she was just that ninja.
Brown eyes continued to scan the area, a small whimper coming from the young cub. She didn't like her mother's disappearance! As much as her pride would hate her for admitting it, but she was scared right now! It was cold, the forest became darker faster than an open area, and she was alone. Not to mention there were freaking scary creatures that liked to roam forests. There were wolves, snakes, badgers... And some other things she couldn't remember at the moment. It wasn't like she was afraid of them or anything; she just... She just couldn't defend herself with such a small form! When she was older and stronger, those mutts, reptiles, and... Well, she really didn't know how to describe the badgers. Eheh. But, that was besides the point! When she was stronger, those beasts wouldn't stand a chance against her! Ahah!
She was still scared, though.
Her ears perked as a male's voice reached her ears. Her grip on the branch tightened, and she hesitantly peeked down to see who the owner of the older male's voice was. It was a... Well, she's never seen one of those before. But, man, was he huge! Though, she was tempted to jump down and play with his mane. It just looked so fluffy! Oh, jeez, look at her, letting the cub inside take over her mind. Wait, she was a cub. Gah, this made her brain hurt.
Brown eyes just stared down at the large male, never once wavering. What if he was going to attack? One swipe of those paws could result in her untimely death. She had too much to live for! A small whimper escaped from the Clouded Leopard. Sitara was unable to do anything else as the fear continued to make her body shake. Oh, where did her mother go?
ooc: Do cats even whimper? ... They do now!

The sun will set on my time, And rise on yours.
Mufasa felt himself feeling pity for the small cub. So small and tiny. He breathed in deeply and a whiff of the cub's mother was smelled along with the dead foresty smell that lingered all around him. In fact, it had been the only scent he had picked up since he strutted inside this forest, a place were he wasn't afraid. Rarely was Mufasa afraid. How could be when he was the King? A leader of...well none, yet, but when he was a leader he would have to rein over everyone and protect those who entered into his pride. If another male wanted one of his females or his own kingdom, Mufasa would have to fight to save his own life, land, and females and even males if they decided they wanted to be in his pride. He welcomed all cats and all genders in his pride. Everyone had a place to be and he expected everyone to be in that place, doing their jobs just as he would do his own. Mufasa felt his protective side coming out of him as he watched the little female Clouded Leopard cub.
Instead of saying much, Mufasa simply sat back down on his haunches and smiled kindly up at the cub. " I won't hurt you, dear. I promise. " He chuckled for a moment, though no evil was heard from his vocal cords. " I guess I am a rather large feline. I probably wouldn't want to come down here either. However, I promise I would never do anything to harm you." Another thought came to his mind. Maybe she was stuck? There was no way Mufasa would be able to get himself in that tree, but perhaps he could help her to could down. But the fear that Mufasa saw made him doubt that thought quickly. Sighing, he continued looking up at the cub. " Honey, just answer me this. Where on earth is your mother? There is no way you are old enough to be on your own, yet." He hated to condemn her to such, being young and immature. But it was clearly seen she was small for her breed and quite fearful of him. Mufasa sometimes hated how big he was. Well, when it came to trying to get a young cub to get out of a tree, he hated it.
